概述
Huizhou is the premier beach weekend destination for Guangzhou and Shenzhen residents. Its coastline features two famous crescent bays — Shuangyue Bay (Twin Moon Bay) and Xunliao Bay — with soft sand, clear water, and resort hotels. Inland, Huizhou offers West Lake, a scenic park associated with the exiled Song Dynasty poet Su Dongpo, and Luofu Mountain, a Taoist sacred site. Huizhou suits beach lovers, seafood eaters, and history-minded travelers.

贴士 (Tips)
- Weekend traffic: Xunliao Bay and Shuangyue Bay are extremely congested on summer weekends. Drive early Friday evening or late Saturday morning.
- Shuangyue Bay viewpoint: The best panoramic view of the twin crescent bays is from the observation deck on the hill behind the bay.
- West Lake: Free entry for the main park. Some internal attractions (e.g., boat rides) charge extra.
- Luofu Mountain cable car: 40 CNY one-way, 70 CNY round-trip. Saves a steep 2-hour climb.
- Xunliao seafood: Restaurants by the pier offer “choose your own” seafood sold by weight. Agree on the price before ordering.
- Best season: October to April is the most comfortable period. Summer (May-Sep) is hot, humid, and prone to typhoons.
- Sun protection: Strong UV at the beaches — bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat year-round.
- Swimming safety: Some beaches have strong currents. Swim only in designated areas with lifeguards.
- Transport to bays: From Huizhou South Station, take a bus to Xunliao (~1 hr, 25 CNY) or Shuangyue (~1.5 hr, 30 CNY). Didi costs ~150-200 CNY.
- Accommodation booking: On summer weekends, book beach hotels at least 2 weeks in advance.
